Siaya Senator James Orengo now claims that apart from uniting the nation, the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) will also have some serious casualties.
This comes only hours to the scheduled launch of the report, which is expected to be handed over to President Uhuru Kenyatta by the BBI taskforce on Tuesday.
Orengo now says that the BBI report will come up with proposals that will "finish Ruto politically", as well as block him from making it to the presidency in the 2022 polls.
“It is true that Ruto is in government and enjoys the DP post but come 2022, he will be nowhere because the BBI that he opposes will finish him politically,” he told K24 on Monday.
At the same time, he claimed that the report might help Raila ascend to power, given that the former Prime Minister founded the BBI alongside Uhuru in March 2018.
The close Raila ally said that by opposing the BBI, the DP whose allies have been making declarations against the initiative is writing his own political obituary ahead of the 2022 polls.
The DP has been lukewarm on the issue lately, hinting at his readiness to back it if passed by Kenyans, yet his allies have on the other hand been vowing to reject it once released.
