Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria on Saturday vowed to support Deputy President William Ruto's presidential bid in the 2022 general elections.
Kuria, who was speaking after being released on cash bail from Kilimani police station, added that his support for DP Ruto is what may have led to his arrest on Friday.
Kuria claimed that he will not denounce his support for DP Ruto.
"I belong to the wing where I am in alliance with Deputy President William Ruto. And if that's why you're arresting me, take me back now coz I am not shifting," he added.
The legislator further pointed out that political formation had begun taking place ahead of the 2022 elections, citing that Opposition leader Raila Odinga, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and Interior Cabinet Security Fred Matiang'i had already launched their formation.
"I have no shame... I have no guilt to say that we are going to the elections in two years and we are going to see formations. Yesterday, we saw a formation of Raila Odinga, CS Matiang'i and Anne Waiguru. What happened yesterday was the launch of Raila - Matiang'i - Waiguru presidential campaign," Kuria said.
The Gatundu South MP was apprehended on Friday following claims that he had physically assaulted a woman at the Royal Media Services.
