Eldoret West Police Division has a new boss, Eliud Maiyo.
This is after the incumbent Officer Commanding Police Division (OSPD) Zachariah Bitok was transferred to Kisii in the same position.
Maiyo has been serving in Kisii also as an OCPD.
Speaking in his office on Monday, the OCPD promised to work round the clock to ensure that cases of insecurity in his area of jurisdiction are a thing of the past.
“I want to thank the former OCPD Mr Bitok for a job well done and as I step into his feet by ensuring I continue with his job of ensuring the security of residents,” he said.
He reiterated that he will work with everyone to ensure that residents are not terrorized by gangsters who want to reap where they have not sown.
“I want to call on residents to act as our watchdog by reporting any person involved in crime and I promise to take stern actions against them. Let us work together to reduce crime,” urged Maiyo.
He also warned those involved in the sale and use of illegal liquor that their days are numbered and soon they will face the full force of the law.
