At Lodwar, Mr Odinga was received by the former ODM Vice Chairman who has been critical of the party, leading to his expulsion by the NGC in June.

Earlier, Nanok had hosted Deputy President William Ruto. He maintained his stand that the country does not need Mr Odinga's third tier government proposal.

"Thank you Lodwar for the warm welcome and I look forward to attending this years edition of the Turkana Tourism and Cultural Festival, Tobong'u Lore. Asanteni," wrote Odinga, who had addressed a rally.

In June, ODM party kicked out Nanok due to his association with Deputy President William Ruto. The ODM governor has insisted that he will support Dr Ruto.

“Following numerous public pronouncements that he has quit the ODM Party, the NEC has unanimously resolved to replace H.E. Gov. Josphat Nanok as the party Vice Chairman with Loima MP Hon. Jeremiah Lomorukai. He was welcomed to the NEC by the party leader Raila Odinga,” reads the tweet by the ODM Party.

In his response, Nanok accused the party of dictatorial tendencies, arguing that he had not been given a fair chance to defend his position.

"ODM can do what it wants, including using the old Kanu tactics of the 70s to 90s", but it must not breach its constitution," he said, noting he was well-versed with it.

"If ODM claims to be a democratic party, it must strictly follow the process of removal of an official and election of a replacement, the officer being removed [should] be summoned and given the opportunity to explain himself," he said.
