The Kiambu County government has employed 136 health officers to serve in the county health facilities for the next three years, Governor William Kabogo has said.
The health officers include nurses, clinical officers and laboratory technologists.
Speaking at Ruiru hospital when handing over appointment letters to the newly recruited medics, Kabogo said that devolution of the health services is the best thing that ever happened to the health sector in the nation.
The Kiambu government has also announced plans to construct health centre in the 60 wards of the county.
This comes after Philips launched a community health centre in partnership with the Kiambu county government.
Meanwhile, MCAs and other leaders have praised the governor, citing all the development projects he has so far launched in the county yet he is not in the referendum push campaign by the fellow governors.
