City lawyer Nelson Havi has taken a swipe at legal advisors of President Uhuru Kenyatta over the proposal to tame lawyer MPs from practising.
Mr Havi now says he will lead a team of lawyers in teaching State House advisors on matters law following their blunder.
Mr Havi, who has won a couple of high profile cases, dismissed the advisors as quacks, arguing that he will be glad to teach them on Monday next week.
"We will be offering free legal aid at the State House and State Law Office on Monday, 16th December 2019. Come one come all. Too many quacks in those two offices," he said.
President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday lambasted MPs serving concurrently as lawyers in the corruption-related cases.
"One cannot serve as a legislator at the national or county level while at the same time practising law, whether or not for gain," Uhuru said.
The President said professionals who take state or public offices should give up private practice and devote their full-time energy and focus on public duties without the perception that they are using their offices as a platform to advance personal interests.
"Is it fair? Is it right fo legislators who have control over funds and exercise oversight over the Judiciary to appear in court as counsel?" Uhuru posed.
Those responsible for advising the president on legal issues include Attorney General Kihara Kariuki, Solicitor General Ken Ogeto and a litany of lawyers in State House.
