Fresh details surrounding the death of the primary school teacher in Kitui have emerged.
Police officers have disclosed that according to investigations, the killing of teacher identified as Daisy Mbathe Mbaluka had nothing to do with poor results of Ndooni Primary School.
According to new reports, the teacher was on the police radar over torture and extortion crimes.
According to Mutito police boss Consaga Malasi, a 30-year-old man had reported at Endau Police Station that he had been tortured and abducted at the deceased teacher's house in Makuka village.
The complainant identified as Mutiso Mulwa had recorded the statement on January 2, four days before the teacher was Killed.
"We were actually looking for the teacher. The case was booked under reference number OB/17/02/01/2020 at Endau Police Station and Mbathe and other suspects are involved in torturing Mr.Mulwa were about to be arrested," said Malasi.
The complaint had told the police that the teacher asked him to help her repair her home's solar electrical system.
However, upon entering the house, he was welcomed by blows by four other men who accused him of having an affair with the teacher.
In a bid to make their accusations seem real, they pushed the man to the teacher's bedroom where the tied him to the bed.
The man was held captive for eight hours as his oppressor demanded money from him in order to release him. The man is receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital after sustaining serious head, chest and back injuries.
The police boss said that it's possible the teacher was killed out of revenge by people who had fallen prey to her schemes.
The teacher's husband Mbindi Ndolo said that he had gotten a report that people have been tortured in his house.
He said that their marriage was not fairing well and he had on numerous occasions received threats from the man who cohabited with his wife.
"I believe my wife's murder was planned by the man who cohabited with her to cover up the crimes they had committed together and to benefit from the huge monies extorted to more than 40 victims," said the husband.
