Siaya Senator James Orengo has said that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is not fully satisfied with the contents of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
Despite initially declaring that it will fully embrace the BBI task force report once out, the party appears to have changed its mind and now wants the report revised.
Orengo on Tuesday said that the report lacks some of the proposals the party would like to see, including additional funds for the devolved units, hence the sudden discomfort.
In an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday night, he said that the money should be proceeds of the revenue collected in the previous year and not figures of the previous edited accounts.
"As ODM we would have wanted that county allocation approach 40-45% of the revenue collected in the previous year, not of figures in the last audited accounts," he said.
The leader who has rooted for a referendum as the best avenue for implementing the changes once agreed on also called for calm regarding the absence of a referendum question yet.
He said that the question will be formulated after reviewing the report, where it will be decided if the referendum is necessary or not.
"We do not have referendum questions as yet. They will be formulated after the process of review and validation which will determine whether issues in the report require a referendum," he added.
In a press conference on Monday, Orengo suggested that the referendum should be held within this year.
