Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has petitioned police officers in Kenyenya Sub-County to flush out criminals terrorizing innocents residents.
According to Maangi, cases of insecurity in Magena should be addressed with seriousness arguing that traders in Magena market must be assured of their security.
"As I join other leaders in condemning criminal acts in Magena market I urge the security team to put up security measures and vigilance be scaled up in Magena and in other parts of Kisii County to flush out criminals hiding in villages to terrorize innocent locals," said the county second in command.
He said police officers should maintain a good working relationship with the public for the sake of getting information about criminals.
The Deputy Governor pleaded with the public to stay calm, vigil and give the police ample time as they carry the investigations following the brutal murder of a businessman Zabron Nyakibwoga.
"I assure residents of Magena that no crime will go unpunished and that peace, security and stability will prevail once again," added Maangi.
He was speaking on Tuesday when he addressed the press at his office.
