The bank's head of security, John Muchiri on Thursday told Kiambu Senior Principal Magistrate Stella Atambo that the kitchen roof may have been the entry point for the robbers who raided the bank July 14, 2019.

“On checking, I discovered that the fire alarm system had been vandalised," he testified.

The thugs used welding gas cylinder to gain access into the strong room while they used crowbars to vandalised the ATM

Police who arrived at the scene of crime found the welding gas cylinder and four crowbars.

The case sucked in operations supervisor Cyrus Mugo, tellers Nancy Njeri and Sally Mureithi, Francis Lucigi Shego, Michael Rapando, Malobo and Robert Ndururi (a guard)

The accused have since denied any involvement in the heist where Sh19, 204,563, 570 US dollars and 210 euros were stolen.

The case will continue on December 4.
