Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga has questioned the debate revolving around President Uhuru Kenyatta's endorsement of McDonald Mariga for the Kibra seat.
Uhuru on Wednesday met the soccer star at State House, where he endorsed and vowed to support his bid.
In a Facebook post hours later, Wanga questioned the anxiety that has been ignited by the action across the nation.
She said the endorsement was not unusual in any way, adding that it is very normal for party leaders to endorse their party's candidates.
"Why would it be such unusual news that the party leader of Jubilee has met and endorsed the Jubilee candidate for Kibra? Isn't that what party leaders do?" she posed.
The vocal leader also predicted a win for ODM's Imran Okoth, adding that the party will easily retain the seat left vacant after the death of immediate former MP Ken Okoth, Imran's brother.
She insinuated that the Kibra by-election will not erode the ongoing good relationship between President Kenyatta, and ODM leader Raila Odinga with regards to their 2018 truce.
ODM will capture the seat with ease and (na) handshake will go on (itaendelea)," she added.
