Controversial Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has warned leaders seeking to create more leadership positions through a referendum
Speaking during the Turkana Cultural Festival, the outspoken legislator voiced his opposition to a constitutional referendum that would seek to saddle Kenyan taxpayers with more leadership position.
He said that it was morally indefensible to claim to want to improve the lives of Kenyans while pushing for more positions to be created.
"If it is about increasing the number of leaders and leadership positions and for you to have many cars, forget thatLakini kama ni katiba ya kuongeza viongozi, na kuongeza macheo na mukue na magari mingi musahau hio" Oscar Sudi said.
Oscar Sudi's intervention comes in the context of a raging debate on the Punguza Mizigo Initiative and the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
Dr Aukot's Punguza Mizigo proposals include reducing the number of constituencies and targeting resources at the grassroot levels.
Critics of the proposals say they will roll back the gains made under devolution.
Veteran opposition and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has rubbished the proposals and called on Kenyans to wait for the recommendations of the BBI.
