Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has expressed satisfaction in the manner in which the police are handling his claims that his life is in danger.
The county boss las week accused Deputy President William Ruto of threatening him at the Nairobi State House last month, allegedly over his unending attacks on him (Ruto).
He said that similar remarks were made by National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale and his Senate counterpart Kipchumba Murkomen, both Ruto's allies.
Speaking on Sunday, the Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader said that so far, the police are handling the case seriously, and he is looking forward to seeing the DP being summoned to help with the probe.
"Police are taking my allegations seriously. I hope they question the Deputy President," he said in an interview on K24's Punchline on Sunday night.
He also defended his move to report the allegations, which were earlier in the day dismissed by the DP, who appeared to suggest that his 'tight handshake' meant no harm.
Mutua claimed that to be on the safe side, he chose to report the said threats, to avoid ending up like other Kenyans who received similar threats and ended up dead.
"I was showing that I was not the first one to complain about his or her life being in danger. I do not want my fate to end the way the others did," noted the county boss.
Speaking in Busia earlier, the DP mocked Mutua for reading too much from his handshake, in reference to his claims that the handshake was firm and threatening in itself.
The governor had claimed that the threats were given during the handover of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report handover.
