Speaking at the Bomas of Kenya during the launch on Wednesday, Orengo said that the report marks the beginning of a new era.

The Senate Minority Leader said that the Initiative has brought together millions of Kenyans, adding that embracing the unity of purpose is the right thing to do.

"The most important thing that has happened in this country is that this Initiative has brought Kenya in one tent. We have been brought to reason together. Read the document," he said.

National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale asked President Uhuru Kenyatta not to allow politicians to hijack the report after it is made public.

He noted that he is fully behind the report but warned leaders against using the same for their political mileage.

"The President should not allow a section of the leadership to sabotage and divide this country. You must make it clear that you are going to go through with this process with the rest of the nation and not the political class," he said.

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho issued similar sentiments saying the report is a call for all Kenyans and not individual leaders.

In his address, President Uhuru Kenyatta also asked Kenyans to read the report citing that they may give some input that the BBI task force did not include in the report.
