Apparently, the girl was beaten on Tuesday evening after going to claim her leg warmers and shoes from the student identified as Tecla.

"She beat me and then attacked my sister with blows threw her down and stepped on her stomach before fleeing," narrated the victim's sister.

"When we reported the matter to the principal he told us to go to the police," she added.

The victim's mother stated that she found her daughter gasping for breath as other students tried giving her first aid.

She said that on arriving at the school she tried talking to the school principal but he ignored her.

She wondered why the school had not taken action on the girl despite having a history of bullying and indiscipline.

When the media contacted the principal Paul Mulelu on the issue he said that he is not concerned since the incident took place outside the school gate.

"The fight happened outside the school, these things happening outside the school require parents intervention," he said.

The case has been reported at Kangundo police station and investigations have begun.
