In a post on his official Facebook page on Tuesday, Mutua noted that the country is sinking in debts and poverty due to the greed of corrupt individuals hence need for such cases to be handled as a matter of priority.

He, however, congratulated the DPP, DCI and EACC for their efforts in fighting corruotion but stated that "Kenyans still expect more big fish and even bigger fish to be apprehended and charged with corruption."

The county boss who has already declared interest for the 2022 presidential race noted that if cases involving corruption took longer in court, then the war on corruption cannot be won.

He called for the setting up a system that will ensure the cases are fast-tracked and those found guilty are convicted.

"I, therefore, urge the Chief Justice to consider having corruption cases heard on a daily basis including weekends so that they are concluded within a period of 3 months from the date of taking plea," said Mutua in the Facebook post.

"In the same way elections petitions are heard continuously and with a set period, so should corruption cases. That way the accused are afforded justice and the people of Kenya also receive justice," he added.
