The Cabinet Secretary without portfolio is currently under pressure to resign, with allies of Deputy President William Ruto accusing him of betraying the party by working with the rival side.

Nduko says that the latter was specifically installed to handle such, hence his fearless involvement with opposition boss Raila Odinga after his truce with president Uhuru Kenyatta.

He said that Tuju's lack of a specific docket shields him from appearing to be sabotaging the government, noting that the criticisms on him are therefore unlikely to affect him.

"He is a cabinet secretary without portfolio. The president let him loose so that he can use him at such times. He has no delegation," he said on KBC English Service's The Big Conversation show on Wednesday morning.

The commentator said that thanks to the reasons, Tuju is Uhuru's best bet in further solidifying the Uhuru-Raila handshake as he lacks anything making him busy.

The former Rarieda on Thursday accompanied Siaya Senator James Orengo and MPs Elisha Odhiambo (Gem) and Otiende Amollo (Rarieda) to Siaya where they supervised development projects.

Neither Uhuru nor Raila have personally responded to the pressure being heaped on Tuju.
