City lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has predicted the collapse of the Jubilee Party, almost three years after it's formation.
Jubilee brought together a host of parties among them United Republican Party and The National Alliance, which were associated with DP William Ruto and President Uhuru Kenyatta respectively.
Lately, the party has been undergoing metamorphosis, with internal wrangles almost threatening to split it apart.
In a tweet on Saturday, Ahmednasir, who has represented President Uhuru Kenyatta twice in Supreme Court on an election petition, said the party is on the brink of collapse.
He blamed the partnership between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.
"My BELOVED JUBILEE was a great party with VISION, DRIVE and PURPOSE in its first term. In the second term, it's lifeless, useless, about to collapse and really dead...and I know the problem isn't internal...it's EXTERNAL brought about by @JunetMohamed, his party...and PRINCIPAL," he claimed.
Two factions; Kieleweke and Tanga Tanga have emerged, with the former opposing DP William Ruto's 2022 bid while the latter embraces him.
A spirited Ruto has often put a brave face, rubbishing divisions within the party. Recently, he accused the media of fueling the internal crisis in the party.
“Detractors rattled by Jubilee emerging United/strong post-Sagana are, in collabo with usual brown envelope journalists, back to the drawing board to continue their never-ending scheme to stumble us. The words of Matt.18vs6 await you if you succeed in your ungodly mission. Tunawaombea,” he tweeted.
The comradeship between President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto could be tested further on Tuesday when the Building Bridges Initiative report will be launched.
