Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga attended the requiem mass of the Precious Talent School students.
In a Facebook post on Friday afternoon, the ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale revealed that Raila was in Dagoretti South for an inter-denominational requiem service.
"H.E @RailaOdinga has joined family, relatives, friends and schoolmates of the eight fallen souls who died on Monday when a building collapsed at the Precious Talents Academy in Ngandu area of Dagoretti South for an inter-denominational requiem service. The service is being held at the Posta grounds along Ngong Road. We pray for the souls of the young ones to Rest In Peace," said Etale.
The requiem mass attracted many people who lined up to view the photos of the deceased placed on tables.
Their bodies were still at the City Mortuary but will be handed over to individual families.
Kenya Red Cross and Sonko Rescue team were also present at the send-off mass.
Sonko had promised to cater for all the burial expenses of the eight students.
Eight students passed away, while more than 60 other sustained various injuries after a building collapsed on Monday at Precious Talent School.
