As the talk of 2022 succession politics keeps escalating across the country, a section of DP Ruto’s men has kept lobbying for his presidential ambitions.
One of them is outspoken Bahati legislator Kimani Ngunjiri. He had remained cool until recently when he led a section of Mt Kenya elders to visit DP Ruto’s home in Sugoi, Uasin Gishu county.
It is clear how the DP has picked the MP to aid him to sell his political agenda to the Mt Kenya family leaving in Nakuru county and beyond.
The lawmaker has openly told off DP Ruto’s critics who keep criticizing the habit of politicians visiting the DP’s home regularly.
He has taken on the role of responding to anti-Ruto attacks and mobilizing Mt Kenya voters in Nakuru to have confidence in the DP.
The MP was among the few leaders who dismissed President Uhuru Kenyatta’s meeting with Mt Kenya leaders in Sagana recently.
He claimed that DP Ruto’s men from the region were not fully involved in the organization of that meeting.
One does not need a political microscope to notice how Kimani Ngunjiri is gradually positioning himself to mobilize his people to rally behind DP Ruto’s agenda.
He has stepped in the DP’s kitchen cabinet as a political diplomat of Nakuru county.
