A boda boda operator is currently in police custody for defiling a 14-year old girl.
The suspect, Lincoln Mukundi, was presented in an Embu court on Friday where he was charged with having sexual intercourse with a minor and touching the young girl's private parts indecently.
Mukundi, however, denied the charges laid against him when he appeared before Embu resident magistrate Jean Ndengeri.
The suspect who had requested to be released on bond failed to raise the Sh500,000 cash bail that was set by the magistrate. He was consequently taken to Embu remand prison.
Reports indicate that the young girl met with the suspect after she was chased away from home by her mother on the allegations that she had stolen Sh20.
She is said to have instructed her daughter not to return home unless she came back with the Sh20.
It is when the girl left home that she met with Mukundi who agreed to help her only if she slept with him. He took the girl to his house where he allegedly committed the crime. The girl spent two nights at the suspect's house before the suspect returned her home and gave her the Sh20.
The mother who had apparently found the Sh20 that she had accused her daughter of stealing, reported the case to the police leading to the arrest of the suspect.
The case will be mentioned on November 6.
