Replying to a Twitter user who opined that Passaris is the best candidate to take over from Governor Mike Sonko in 2022, the legislator thanked the tweep, adding that she just wants to be the best woman rep as elected in 2017.

She further noted that the ongoing 2022 succession debate is becoming a threat to leaders' collaboration in delivering services to Kenyans.

“Thank you. I just want to be the best Women Rep and MP as elected. I am working on fruitful engagements with all elected leaders. Sadly 2022 seems to deter the desire to serve collectively. I wish we would put our trust in the Lord and know that tomorrow isn't in our hands,” said Passaris.

Passaris recently made headlines after she and Governor Sonko engaged in a public spat during the Madaraka Day Celebrations in Nairobi.

The war of words between the two leaders has sparked claims that Passaris is eyeing the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in the upcoming general elections and their differences are just about City Hall politics.
