The former Deputy Prime Minister, Musalia Mudavadi, has weighed in on Maraga's outburst concerning the lack of proper funding in the Judiciary. Maraga revealed to the public that the Judicial System is going through a hard time due to a lack of funds nearly a month ago.
According to the Amani National Congress party leader, he terms the act to be a sign of something serious happening in our Kenyan judicial system. He was keen not to mention the "something" but surely insinuated that there was a problem at the judiciary.
"There is something serious happening in the Judiciary. Would you want the head of the Judiciary to come out of the public to lament about funding!" Mudavadi said
Further, while in an interview in the K24 tv punchline program, Mudavadi touched on land issues where he revealed that currently, lawyers offer their clients 2021 dates for them to present their land cases which is something that according to him should be checked on.
"I have been talking to lawyers in practice who say that if you have a land case, the dates that they are getting for their clients are in 2021. I am giving this example to ask Kenyans to give due care to institutions," he said.
Finally, Musalia Mudavadi has also urged everyone to build a proper consensus as they did in the 2010 constitution as they wait for 2022.
"As we look to 2022, let us be brave enough to build a consensus on a lot of the issues just as we did when we were passing the 2010 Constitution. In 2005, the country was split down the middle and that's why we had to repeat the process." Mudavadi said
