A 43-year-old man is fighting for his life at Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital after he was brutally attacked by his wife.
Joseph Mouni was attacked at his home in Nyakongo village Ibeno, Nyaribari Chache Kisii County on Wednesday.
According to the area chief Henry Nyang'au who confirmed the attack, the victim leased the family land 6 months ago and went to live in Eldoret.
"The victim leased all the family land and went to spend the money in Eldoret abandoning his wife with their five kids at home without food and a decent house to live in. His wife struggled and managed to build a 26-iron sheet house only for the victim to resurface on Wednesday and set the house on fire," said Nyang'au.
The chief said Mouni's wife was angered with her husband's decision to burn the house and attacked him.
"The victim sustained injuries on his chest and left leg. Members of the public managed to rescue him from the jaws of death and rushed him to hospital," said the chief.
Nyang'au further said the victim announced plans that he wanted to sell the land and relocate to Eldoret.
He warned that unnecessary fights among couples won't be condoned in the area.
