Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna has revealed how Joe Mwangi, the former acrobat Wendy Waeni's manager, allegedly almost stole from them.
In a tweet, Sifuna said: "I don't know about child trafficking but one time Wendy came to Orange house and we cut a cheque for her foundation to buy some play stuff. Weeks later Joe Mwangi came asking us to change it and write the cheque in his name. I cancelled the whole thing."
Earlier on, city lawyer Donald Kipkorir had called for the arrest of Joe Mwangi. He accused him of using a small girl to benefit himself.
"Wendy Waeni is a child & I trust her word. Joe Mwangi used her & her social media accounts to enrich himself. Joe exploited her innocence to get access to Presidents & powerful men. Joe Mwangi should be charged with international crimes of Child Slavery & Trafficking," Kipkorir said in a tweet.
This comes just hours after Wendy Waeni accused Mwangi of stealing all her earnings from the shows she did across the world.
"I have been performing all over the world Jeff, I know you know that. And right now I live in Huruma because of Joe Mwangi. Jeff to be sincere with you I have been performing all over the world. Like I have performed in Rwanda, I have performed in German in China and I have not gotten even a single penny. My mum is really suffering,” Wendy said during an interview on Citizen TV on Wednesday.
