Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has dared the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji to also issue a warrant of arrest against an 'influential person' he alleges is part of the Arror and Kimwarer dams scandal.
Ngunyi claims that a powerful individual's home was used to store Sh4 billion withdrawn from a bank in Westlands.
The political analyst believes Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich should not be crucified alone.
"According to DCI, 4 billion was withdrawn in CASH from a WESTLANDS bank. It was TAKEN to the home of some INFLUENTIAL BIG Person. After "Henry Rotich" will they ARREST this BIG PERSON? I have a BAD Feeling," Ngunyi tweeted.
According to the DPP, there were irregularities in the conception of the project, procurement, and the payment process.
"Upon investigations by the DCI, it was established that the conception, procurement and payment process for the Arror and Kimwarer dam projects in Elgeyo Marakwet County were riddled with massive illegalities,” DPP said as quoted by Citizen.
Despite the political rhetoric, Haji maintains there is enough evidence of illegalities allegedly committed and supported by those he has issued warrants of arrest against.
“Upon receiving and reviewing the evidence, I am satisfied there is sufficient evidence to charge and prosecute the perpetrators,” Haji said.
