Ruto made the remarks on Tuesday during Citizen TV's News Night show after being asked whether he will support the DP's presidential bid.

The CCM leader said that the party's support will depend on whether the DP gives enough reasons to be endorsed.

He, however, maintained that they are ready to have talks with anyone eyeing the presidential seat come 2022, so long as they share the same ambitions to transform Kenya.

"2022 is still three years away. We are yet to meet with the DP. We have questions to ask on the grounds on which to support him. CCM has to be approached as a political party by all presidential candidates, not just the DP," said Isaac Ruto.

DP Ruto who has already declared his 2022 presidential bid is expected to face off with several leaders who have also shown interest in the country's top seat.

With speculations rife that ODM leader Raila Odinga will vie for the top seat in 2022, DP Ruto has urged the former premier to concede defeat and respect the will of Kenyans if he happens to lose in the elections.

"I have heard that the man who loves riddles (vitendawili) wants to run against me in 2022. It’s okay. But for now, I am busy implementing the Jubilee party manifesto and President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big Four agenda," said Ruto.

"I have no problem competing with him but first he must assure Kenyans he will not cause chaos, and respect the will of Kenyans," added the DP.
