Deputy President William Ruto is once again set for a tour of the Western Kenya region, amid reported plans to woo the region to his side ahead of his 2022 ambitions.

The DP is on Monday, September 30, expected to launch a number of education facilities in Kimilili Constituency in Bungoma County, where he will be hosted by area MP Didmus Barasa.

In a tweet Saturday, the youthful lawmaker said that the DP will be launching newly-built classrooms at the Nasianda Primary School and Namakhele Primary Schools.

He will also launch the construction of an 8 classroom storied building at Matili, before returning to the county to launch more projects a month later.

"On 30th September, We are hosting H.E WilliamRuto to launch schools that I have built in Kimilili Constituency, and there after in a months time he will come back to launch other completed projects in Kamukuywa Division and commission new projects," he wrote.

The DP has been very interested in the populous region lately, resulting in numerous trips in a region where he had also managed to woo a number of politicians to his side.

Ex-Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, one of his newest allies and alongside Barasa a fortnight ago revealed that the DP is keen on clinching the Western Kenya, through his allies.

They revealed that the plan includes storming the entire region to wipe out its allegiance to Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi in readiness for the 2022 mega poll.
