A group of youths allied to Tanga Tanga team on Tuesday defended Deputy President William Ruto ahead of Thursday's tour to Kisii County.
Dr Ruto is under pressure to explain the reasons behind stalled projects across the county, with a section of politicians accusing him of launching ghost projects.
Former Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire over the weekend accused Dr Ruto of allegedly undermining the Gusii people by cheating them in the name of project launching.
"None of the projects he launched has gone through. He is thinking that our people are too gullible to be cheated. We shall not allow such blackmail," he said.
Dr Ruto's trip well be the 23rd since 2017 to the region, which puts him on top of other presidential candidates in terms of vote hunting to the region.
But Youth Leader Ben Mogaka said Ruto is picked as a sacrificial lamb on the stalled projects, adding that some goverment mandarins are out to frustrate his bid.
"He launched projects on behalf of the goverment and some people are just out to potray him as a liar. He's not and that's a fact," said Mr Mogaka.
"We shall continue rallying behind him as long as he's in the picture. He means well for our people and that's a fact. We must support his candidature," he added.
Dr Ruto met the Gusii delegation under Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi and North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko a fortnight ago where they discussed matters development.
