According to the former Subukia lawmaker, this is the reason behind Uhuru's anger towards leaders from his Mt Kenya backyard lately, which he has repeatedly accompanied with scoldings.

He says that Uhuru is angry that the people he expected would have stood by him now appear against him, which he says might see him have it hard realizing his intention.

According to Koigi, Uhuru wants to realize this using the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), which majority of area leaders seem not willingly behind, but rather being forced to support.

"The president is yelling because he doesn't want to leave power. He doesn't want them to bury him alive. He wants to live, politically (Rais anafoka maana hataki kutoka mamlakani. Hataki hawa wamzike hai, anataka kuishi na kuishi huku ni kisiasa)," he said on Saturday.

Wamwere, also a former Nakuru senatorial aspirant in the 2017 general polls made the remarks during an interview on Radio Sauti Ya Mwananchi's Cheche on Saturday evening.

He added that Uhuru is also facing a rebellion due to his changing political stands, to an extent that the group can no longer understand what he stands for, hence their decision to move out.

He cited Uhuru's initial stand that he will fully support the BBI report, only for him to say that the report must be taken to Kenyans for keener scrutiny before being implemented.

"The president is yelling because MPs are abandoning him since they don't understand his vision for the country (Rais anafoka kwa sababu wabunge wanamkimbia. Wanamkimbia kwa sababu hawajui anatakia nchi hii nini)," he added.

Since last year, Uhuru has repeatedly lost his cool while addressing Mt Kenya MPs or touring the region, blaming the MPs for among others, disrespecting him and continuously politicking.
