While dismissing Citizen Digital story titled "The rise and fall of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko," the county boss who has been behind bars since Friday insisted that his political career is not yet over.

"The lion of Nairobi (Simba wa Nairobi) hasn't yet fallen maybe (labda) SK Macharia," Sonko said in a Facebook comment to the story by the SK Macharia-owned media house.

The story which has documented Sonko's political life from his days as Makadara MP to his rise to Nairobi Senator and finally to the apex of the county leadership had suggested that his better days in politics could be over if his recent political troubles are anything to go by.

The flamboyant county chief was nabbed on Friday in a dramatic arrest in Voi, shortly after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) issued a warrant of arrest against him.

He is set to be arraigned in court on Monday where he will be charged alongside several others for their alleged role to conspire to swindle county resources in corrupt deals.
