Kenyan boy band Ethic's new song 'Figa' has gained more than one million views and 3,000 comments on YouTube.

The song released one week ago has been trending across different social media platforms especially YouTube.

A few days after its release, the song trended at number one on YouTube, giving established East African artists like Diamond Platnumz and Otile Brown who had new songs out, a run for their money.

The controversy surrounding the song earned it a lot of popularity. 

Popular radio presenter Kamene Goro who has been featured in the song as a video vixen, found herself at the center of criticism from netizens.

Whereas some netizens applauded her for supporting upcoming talents, others believed it was inappropriate for a person of her status to play a role in the song.

Not only has the song earned Ethic views but also additional subscribers on YouTube. When the song was released, Ethic had less than 100,000 subscribers, but currently, they are standing at 103,000 subscribers. 

The song is currently trending at number four on YouTube.
