Nyamira Woman Representative Jerusha Momanyi on Sunday dismissed Thirdway Alliance boss Ekuru Aukot as a busybody after the bill flopped in Nyamira.
Last week, Nyamira MCAs technically rejected Punguza Mizigo Bill after failing to second it. This means that the bill would have lapsed by next month yet it can only make it to assembly after six months.
During the session, Majority Leader Duke Masira dismissed the bill as unnecessary, arguing that it's not all inclusive especially on the basic rights of women.
At Magombo on Sunday, Mrs Momanyi labelled Mr Aukot as 'Okure Okure' literally meaning that he's dead, arguing that he had bad intentions against women.
She lauded MCAs for rejecting the bill, adding that it targeted affirmative actions which the country is struggling to implement.
"I want to thank the MCAs for rejecting Punguza Mizigo Bill. The bill had bad faith to women leadership and it didn't deserve to see the light.
"Infact, the proprietor Ekuru Aukot should be called Okure Okure. We can't watch him dragging us back after all these gains we have made," she said.
The Jubilee legislator urged the remaining county assemblies to reject the bill, adding that it's meant to water down women empowerment.
Mr Aukot's bill continues to face rejection with Deputy President William Ruto becoming the latest leader to dismiss it in Sunday in Vihiga.
Should the Bill fail to get support from 24 counties, then it will collapse. Mr Aukot now has a task to lobby for the bill in the remaining counties.
