James Gesami, the ex-MP for West Mugirango has dismissed the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report saying residents of West Mugirango should disown it as well.
The vocal ex-lawmaker while speaking on Wednesday at Gianchore PAG church where he presided over a funds drive in aid of the church construction said the recommendations in the BBI report are meant to benefit the royal families in this country.
"The BBI will not help the common citizens in deep villages. Royal families will be favoured so that they can continue being in power while Kenyans will be carrying the burden of paying huge taxes," he said.
Gesami appealed to residents in the constituency not to be cheated that the BBI will benefit them in any way now or in the future.
According to the legislator, those pushing for constitutional changes are the same people who pushed for the 2010 constitution to pass.
"Residents of West Mugirango should find constructive things to do even working in their farms instead of wasting more time discussing the BBI report which won't change their lives," he added.
He appealed to politicians in Nyamira County to put the interests of the people at heart and deliver.
