Gospel musician Danger Chacha is dead.
The musician, whose real name is Daniel Chacha succumbed to cancer on Friday morning at Hema Hospital in Kisii.
His family confirmed to K24 Digital that he was hospitalised for two weeks before his demise.
What was thought to be stomach ulcers turned out to be Stage Four liver cancer.
The Jesus Army Evangelistic Ministries founder comes from Migori County and breathed his last aged 54.
Speaking during a past interview, the late former soldier said he was out to change how people viewed military personnel. He wanted to prove that some soldiers are not always after seeking pleasure in women, wine and war.
"Generals are happy with what I am doing. People have associated soldiers with war, wine and women. This is something I want to change. We want to give the forces a new image and that is why I go out to evangelise," Chacha said during a past interview with the Standard.
The singer revealed that his mother was instrumental in shaping their family. He believes her prayers helped him join the army and guided his late father to salvation.
"It was through my mother’s prayers that God gave us a miracle. I was recruited into the military. My happiness was that through our prayers my father, who died seven years ago, had got saved," he said during the 2009 interview.
