A Nasa protester in Kisumu was shot in his buttock during the anti-IEBC demonstrations in the county on Wednesday.The demonstrator whose name is still unknown, was taken to Nightingale hospital in Kondele, Kisumu town where he is receiving treatment.23 other demonstrators have been admitted at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Hospital in Kisumu after they suffered injuries following clashes between them and anti-riot police.Condemning the incident, Kisumu City Residents Association chairman Audi Ogada asked police to stop using live bullets when dispersing protesters."The person was shot in Kondele area," the Star quotes Ogada.The victims had thronged the streets in the county to push for the removal of IEBC commissioners who are alleged to have bungled the August 8 polls from office.The demonstrators are reported to have hurled stones at anti-riot police at Kondele area before police engaged them in running battles.Earlier on Monday, the anti-riot police deployed in Kisumu were put on spot after they harassed and beat up journalists who were covering the demos.
