Residents of the region are now living in fear of attack from the wild animal that escaped to the nearby bush and have urged the Kenya Wildlife Service to ensure that the animal is captured.

The sheep's owner, Simeon Ruto, said that he heard the sheep bleat and when  he went out to check what was happening he found that some of them were missing .

“The wild animal had eaten a few sheep while others lay deed in the pen,” he said.

Speaking to the press at his home Ruto said that his efforts to try and kill the animal didn’t bear fruit after the animal escaped unhurt to the nearby bush.

“I lost sheep worth Sh 200,000. We are urging the wildlife service officers to come and help us capture the wild animals which are attacking our village before they inflict more harm to the villagers,” said Ruto.

The residents said children are afraid of herding as they fear being attacked by the unknown animals.
