In an interview with the Sunday Standard, Mr Mudavadi accused Raila of often changing goal posts on critical issues affecting the country.

He insisted that the Bomas Draft should have been advocated by Raila instead of Building Bridges Initiative. According to him, the country is not ready for additional of more seats in executive.

The Bomas Draft, which Mr Odinga backed years ago, encouraged creation of regional, districts and location government. Mr Odinga wants executive expanded.

“That was the best document, even in our NASA manifesto, we pledged to revisit it. We would save the cost and a whole process of collecting views again,” said Mudavadi.

He said he is preparing to give a second stab at the presidency and insists that he has the experience and the charisma to lead the country after shelving his his bids twice in 2007 and 2017 for Raila.

“I have begun making networks across the country, when the right time comes I will hit the road running,” said Mudavadi.

In 2013, Mudavadi emerged a distant third after Uhuru and Raila. In 2017, he served as Mr Odinga's Chief agent. The handshake strained his relationship with Raila.

Mr Mudavadi is also on record for supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta's 2002 stab at presidency. He was Vice President then after the resignation of George Saitoti.

The country is expected to go for a referendum in 2020 with Mr Odinga pushing for expansion of executive, a move which has been opposed by DP William Ruto.

While Odinga took AU High Representative for Infrastructural Development job, Mudavadi has maintained that he's not interested with government job.
