Dagoretti North Member of Parliament Simba Arati now says that Deputy President William Ruto has been launching non-central government projects.
The DP is known for his project launches almost on a daily basis, an activity that has over the past few years seen him crisscross the country doing the same.
But Arati who hails from the opposition side now claims that he has even encroached into county projects which should be launched by county governors.
He says that the DP has been preying on newly flagged off projects and rushing to launch them with his team of politicians dubbed Team Tanga-tanga, in a bid to be seen as overworking.
"Timu hii imekuwa ikizindua project hata za kaunti. Gavana akiflag off miradi wao wanakuja wanalauch. Na hii team ukiiangalia vizuri ninety percent ni wezi."
This translates to; "This team has been launching even county projects. When a governor flags off a project they come in to launch it. And a keen look will show you that 90 per cent of the team are thieves)," he alleged.
He made the remarks on Radio Citizen's Pata Shika show Wednesday night, hosted by Kamau Munywa, also attended by Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai and politician Stanley Livondo.
He termed the team's conduct as one of the reasons behind the formation of the rival Kieleweke group faction of the Jubilee Party, which also includes opposition leaders.
According to Arati, the Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu-led team was founded to counter Tangatanga which was formed months prior.
"Kieleweke ilikuja baadae kusimamisha na kucounter ile biashara ya Tangatanga (Kieleweke came later to counter and stop the Tangatanga business)," he added.
