Embattled Kiambu County Governor Ferdinand Waititu has urged the Senate to deliver nothing but justice for him.
According to Waititu, senators should give him the justice he deserves, considering they may become governors in the near future and ask for the very same justice he is after.
Waititu was impeached by Kiambu Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) in December 2019.
"Even in this house (Senate) I know a big number of you will also become governors, you will also come here and require justice be done to you… I just besiege you to do justice to me as a Senate…” Waititu pleaded.
Waititu told the Senate that motion of his impeachment was not taken to the Senate in time.
nHe said that instead of the two days required by the law, the motion was tabled in the house after four days.
"When the motion which according to me did not meet the threshold was brought to the Senate, they did not also meet the days that are required, that is a breach of the procedures and standing orders of the Senate and the county assembly," Waititu noted in a video shared by Citizen TV.
On Tuesday, senators started hearing the charges against Waititu and will make a decision on Wednesday on whether to uphold the decision of Kiambu MCAs or dismiss them.
