The Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) taskforce proposals will ultimately succeed and will be implemented, political analyst Herman Manyora has said.

This comes amid opposition from forces allied to Deputy President William Ruto, with some politicians from Mt Kenya also issuing conditions to support it.

But Manyora says that the task-force report must pass, suggesting that it will be forced on Kenyans, as it will pass whether the proposals made are good or not.

"I want to tell Kenyans that BBI will be successful. That BBI and its reports and whatever constitutional changes required will succeed, not because its good or Kenyans like it," he said.

Manyora, a university don, spoke on Saturday, on his YouTube analysis channel Take It or Leave It.

However, he noted that President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga will first have to deal with some serous challenges before pushing the BBI through.

He pointed out that the duo must come up with a way of taming Ruto, who appears ready to take them both on, as he seeks to sabotage the leadership changes likely to be proposed.

According to Manyora, the two have to cage the DP by controlling the remainder of the nation and only leaving him with his Rift Valley backyard, which might be hard given that he has been making inroads in other parts of Kenya.

"They will have to deal with the political genius of William Samoei Ruto, they will have to ensure that they isolate William Samoei Ruto by restraining him in Rift Valley and that's a tall order," he added.

The DP has made it clear that the changes will not be readily accepted should any be proposed, and must be subjected to public scrutiny, with his allies hinting that they will shoot it down.
