Renowned economist and socio-political commentator Dr David Ndii has suggested in a tweet that Deputy President Dr William Ruto would be better than the dynasties.
While holding the view that the deputy president and the dynasties should be sent home, Dr Ndii contended that should it come to the point that the choice that Kenyans have is between Ruto and the dynasties, then Ruto would be a better choice.
According to the economist, allowing the dynastic elements to perpetuate their grip on power would mean only one thing, enslavement.
With Ruto at the top rather than the dynasties, the Kenyan people have a better fighting chance, Dr Ndii argued.
"Let me be clear. The imperative for progressive forces is to send both Ruto and the dynasties home. But if God forbid we must suffer one evil let us suffer Ruto—him we have a fighting chance. If we don’t uproot the dynasties in 2022, they will enslave up to our grand children.Quote Tweet, " Dr Ndii's Thursday tweet read.
His intervention comes just a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta officially launched the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report to members of the public.
A section of analysts and commentators have expressed scepticism about the BBI report with some seeing it as a plot to perpetuate the stranglehold of the so-called dynasties on power.
