A 31-year-old woman is nursing injuries at Mbale hospital in Vihiga county after she was allegedly stabbed by her husband at their home in Lunza Kakamega County.
The lady Lucy Moraa was stabbed on the breasts and private parts by her husband identified as Ephraim Malenge after failing to give him money for alcohol.
"He came home and told me to give him sh.40. I said I did not have the money. He thereafter responded, warning:'you either give me the sh.40 I'm demanding or I behead and walk around the streets carrying your severed head'. I thought he was joking but nevertheless, I gave him the sh.40," she told K24digital on her hospital bed.
She said that the man left and came back demanding for more money. When she declined he took and knife and stabbed her twice, on the chest and private parts.
"He even attempted to attack our child with the knife but the baby was recused by neighbours," she said.
She told of how her marriage to the man has been marred with physical abuse.
Despite that, she said she is ready to accept her husband back because he is the father to her children.
This is unless he asks for forgiveness from her parents and promises never to raise a hand on her again.
"He has formed a habit of seedling forgiveness every time he wrongs me. After a significant period of marital peace, he goes back to his old habits. I am still ready to accept him back, but he has to apologize to my family and assure me that he won't met violence on me, again. I want him in my life because he is the father of my kids," she said.
