Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has been faulted over his recent move to nominate a deputy, a month after his suspension from office.
The governor, who is facing numerous corruption charges in court, has since nominated Anne Kananu to hold the deputy govenor post.
Speaking on Wednesday, Thirdway Alliance Secretary General Frederick Okango said the governor went against his bail terms.
He said the suspension meant that the governor should not play any executive role, and a continuation of what he did might only land him in more trouble in the coming days.
"I would like to advise Sonko to stop this drama because a continuation of this will worsen things for him. (Ningependa kumshauri Sonko awache sarakasi kwa sababu akiendelea hivi atajiharibia zaidi)," he said on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi on Wednesday night.
Okango observed that if approved, Kananu will be serving under the orders of Sonko, meaning that he will still be in charge of county affairs, which the court sought to bar him from.
"Even if vetted and approved, the deputy, once in office, will still work under the directives of the governor. (Hata naibu wake akipigwa msasa na apitishwe, akiwa ofisini bado atafanya kazi kwa maelekezo ya gavana)," he added.
Already, the Directorate of Public Prosecutions has questioned Sonko's move, with Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, one of his lawyers, coming out to defend him.
