The newly-installed governor of Kiambu county has fired a stern warning to politicians in the county with the habit of isulting President UHuru Kenyatta.
Speaking in Kiambu at the county administration headquaters, Governor Nyoro said that as long as he was the governor of KIambu he would not allow the president to be abused.
"For as long as we are in Kiambu leadership, we will not allow people to insult the President, " the county boss warned.
His strong words were interprated as a rebuke of members of the Tangatanga, a political grouping of politicians rallying behind the presidential ambitions of the Deputy President Dr William Ruto.
Nyoro's words come just days after President Uhuru Kenyatta rebuked Bahati member of parliament, a close ally of DP Ruto, of abusing him.
Allies of the country's second in command have been accused of disrespecting the head of state by engaging in politicking in defiance of the president, who has urged politicians to focus on development.
President Uhuru is in his second and final term and is expected to hand over power in 2022 when his 2-term presidential stint will come to a close.
James Nyoro is a strong supporter of the president unlike his former boss Ferdinand Waititu who was widely seen as an ally of the deputy president.
