Marianne Kitany, who is locked in a bitter and very public divorce case with Meru Senator Mithika Linturi, is fighting to have the media continue to cover the divorce proceedings.

The Law Society of Kenya, Nairobi branch had made an application to have the case closed to the public, raising issues with how the media was covering it.

She said that she was aware of the complaint about the conduct of the case and had seen it on social media

"Your honour it has been brought to my attention and the attention of the team representing the plaintiff's petitioner that the Nairobi branch of the Law Society of Kenya has raised an issue in the manner and conduct of this matter, "Kitany's lawyer said.

In court on Monday through her lawyer, the former chief of staff at Deputy President William Ruto's office said that she had no problems with how the media was covering the case and did not share concerns of Law Society of Kenya.

The divorce proceedings have generated massive publicity with the Kenyan public keen on lapping up on the salacious revelations that Kitany has been making in the course of the high profile case.

Like scores of divorce cases pitting public figures, the case has been riddled with a cocktail of sex, infidelity and money making it all the more captivating.
