Speaking in Nyakeyo village on Tuesday, the MP opined that Matiang'i will lose terribly should he vie for the presidency.

According to Osoro, who is Deputy President William Ruto's ally, majority of the politicians who previously vied for the presidency once served as MPs before they contested for the country's top seat.

"President Uhuru Kenyatta, NASA leader Raila Odinga are real examples. They once served as MPs before they decided to run for president. I urge Matiang'i to first try his luck in politics by contesting for an MP seat so that he can see whether he is capable of clinching the presidency," said Osoro.

He argued that there is no way Matiang'i could rise from being a cabinet secretary to becoming the president.

Osoro further noted that DP Ruto has all it takes to succeed President Uhuru in the 2022 polls, arguing that Ruto once served as an MP before he became the deputy president.

"We cannot oppose something whose time has come. DP Ruto stands high chances of winning the presidency in 2022 unlike other aspirants," noted the first-term MP.
