Residents in Fort Tenan, Kipkelion West Constituency, Kericho County were on Thursday night left shock after after a form three boy stabbed his father to death.
Confirming the bizarre incident, Toroton chief Richard Koech said the 18-year-old student stabbed his dad when he angrily asked him why he sneaked out of the school.
A heated argument which resulted into a fight ensued and the boy stabbed his father several times on the stomach.
"The man did not take lightly his son's decision to return home before the end of the term. A bitter altercation between the duo then ensued.The young man then picked up a knife and wrestled his father to the ground and stabbed him multiples times," the chief stated, as quoted by Standard.
He noted that the boy felt guilty after committing the heinous act and decided to surrender himself to his office.
"After the act, the student surrendered himself to Administration Police at Toroton Administration Chief's camp where he was arrested and handed over to officers at Fort Ternan police station," Koech added.
According to the family, the two had had strained relationship, something which made the suspect to go and stay with her grandmother.
The deceased body was taken to St Vincent Hospital mortuary in Muhoroni after he was pronounced death at Fort Ternan Subcounty Hospital.
