City lawyer Steve Ogolla has envisaged a resounding victory for Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) in the November 7 Kibra parliamentary by-election.
The Raila Odinga-led party has fielded Imran Okoth in the race which has attracted other 23 contestants.
Ogolla opined the politics of the handshake between Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta and the resultant Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) will make ODM break no sweat in defending its seat.
"Kibra is ODM, and ODM is Baba, and Baba is BBI, and BBI is HE Uhuru Kenyatta, and Uhuru is Jubilee, effectively making Kibra election the by-product of the covalent bond between Uhuru and Baba. Unless you have no regard for common sense, ODM has an early and easy win on this," he tweeted on Sunday.
Jubilee party has fielded former Harambee Stars international McDonald Mariga, but, the president, who is the Jubilee par leader, has never stepped in Kibra to campaign for the latter..
However, Deputy President William Ruto on Sunday visited the constituency to drum up support for the former Inter Milan player in a rally held at Lindi grounds.
Elsewhere, National Assembly Minority Whip Junet Mohamed has exuded confidence that Imran will carry the day having interacted with residents when he worked as NGCDF manager during his brother's tenure.
"The Hon. Imran Okoth represents continuity of the good work started by the late Hon. Ken Okoth. Having been part of Hon. Okoth’s dream team, we know he will focus on fulfilling a great legacy, as well as making his own history. Ahsante Kibra for keeping it in the house!" the Suna East MP said.
