Kitutu Chache South Sports tournament is set to kick off starting September 2019 with an estimated budget of 5million, area MP has confirmed.
The tournament will be sponsored by the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG- CDF).
In a one on one interview with Hivi Sasa, area Member of Parliament Richard Momaima Onyonka said It will start at the ward level and the best 2 boys teams and a ladies team will proceed all the way to the constituency level.
"With the organization of such sporting activities in the grassroots level, we are giving the young people of Kitutu Chache South an opportunity to explore their talents and a platform to shine and get breakthrough to the professional football," Said Onyonka.
"This is a step in the right direction, as equipping the young generation who have the talent is a great way of ensuring the community develops in other activities," added Onyonka.
He has encouraged youths to utilize the tournament in showcasing their talents as a platform to gain access to National Teams.
"We will consider both Genders in this tournament. We encourage Girls to join and we will reward teams according to their performance. We want to see our youths playing in not only national teams but international teams.," he said.
